harajuku girls

trying to learn to sleep standing up. our intensive preparation courses are at 9 am everyday, so i wear sunglasses on the subway and have my music on, to nap in my own little world while the coffee warms me up on the inside.

the people here are amazing. seriously, i’ve slicked with some english and american students, and the japanese buddies are super helpful and fun, i couldn’t have wished for a better dorm. the area is so pretty with all the light, little shops and local restaurants, people are friendly and OH MY GOD just lovely!

the beginning

first day in Tokyo. it’s more beautiful breathtaking than Paris, i swear. walking around these streets, like breathing in a dream. seriously, when i was boarding and i saw “Tokyo” on the screen, damn! i almost started crying, because it’s just another flight - but one that was long-awaited. as i saw tokyo tower out of the bus window i felt like i dived into a movie. bought our first bit of grocery today. (didn’t know what half of the stuff on the shelves was obviously).

got lost for the first time, attempted to ask some grannies, who were walking their dogs, directions in japanese, they tried so hard to help, it was the sweetest thing ever. saw a woman doing grocery shopping with a Burberry shopping trolley, some unhappy older man waved his arms as we were blocking his way on a bike - foreigners aren’t always welcome. it’s +30C here, but it’s like a blanket that’s over a clean, magnificent city.

and my first ever postcards from best friends left behind in England. (who were too lazy to post them and gave them to me on my birthday haha :P)

on a less nostalgic note, toilets here have heated seats, bum washing options and a button which, if you press it, makes a flushing noise “to muffle toilet noises”. 

just finished my 20th birthday celebrations. muchos crying. won’t be seeing some people for almost a year due to Japan times and such. and my parenties. my magical mother made this cake~~~

A completely surreal art object is going to decorate a lake - a gigantic woman, cmpletely immersed into water!

In Hamburg, Germany, in Alster lake, a statue of a gigantic woman has been emerged. The statue towers about 4 meters above water, but altogether is about 30 meters tall! 

The woman’s knees stick out of the water, which makes it look unusual. The front view angle makes it look like a very bizzare phenomenon.

Furthermore, this artwork is to be called “iron and styrene foam”, as consists of a specific type of styrene foam, and is to decorate the lake for ten days. A Miami advert agency representative mr.Voss believes this has great commercial value. The town mayor Mark Schuber however, believes it merely pollutes the beloved lake. 

how to get into writing more on here? hopefully my posts will become more interesting when i get to japan and take photos.

i would upload my diana f+ photos but they take bloody ages to develop, especially when jessops forget to send them off so i have to wait another week or something.

but YESS, i have my russian pasport, i have my english pasport with a japanese visa and i have new shoes from urban outfitters. in the store in london they have the cutest bear.

saw an eldery couple leasurely eating a McDonalds in the middle of a shopping centre; how touching. that’s gonna be me.

saw, as i turned a corner, a flock of three white pigeons suddenly fly off into the air; beautiful.

saw people on the street from my seat on the top floor of the bus and wondereded about the decisions people make every morning about what they decided to wear, what make up they put on. a yellow jacket? red lipstick? bright pink or red hair?
